Tradition 1: Imam As-Sadiq (‘a) said:

بَيْنَمَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ع فِي حَجْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص إِذْ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا أَبَتِ مَا لِمَنْ زَارَكَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِكَ فَقَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ مَنْ أَتَانِي زَائِراً بَعْدَ مَوْتِي فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ وَ مَنْ أَتَى أَبَاكَ زَائِراً بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ وَ مَنْ أَتَى أَخَاكَ زَائِراً بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ وَ مَنْ أَتَاكَ زَائِراً بَعْدَ مَوْتِكَ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ.

One day while Imam Al-Husayn ('a) was sitting on the lap of Allah's Messenger (S), he looked up and asked, “Father, what is the reward for one who performs your Ziyarah after your passing away?”

Allah's Messenger (S) replied: “My son, one who performs my Ziyarah after my passing away will be rewarded with Paradise; one who performs the Ziyarah of your father after his passing away will be rewarded with Paradise; one who performs the Ziyarah of your brother after his passing away will be rewarded with Paradise; and one who performs your Ziyarah after your passing away will be rewarded with Paradise.”

Tradition 2: Imam As-Sadiq (‘a) said:

قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ ص لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص مَا جَزَاءُ مَنْ زَارَكَ- فَقَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ مَنْ زَارَنِي حَيّاً أَوْ مَيِّتاً أَوْ زَارَ أَبَاكَ أَوْ زَارَ أَخَاكَ أَوْ زَارَكَ كَانَ حَقّاً عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَزُورَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَتَّى أُخَلِّصَهُ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ.

Imam Al-Husayn ('a) asked Allah's Messenger (S), “What is the reward for one who performs your Ziyarah?”

The Messenger replied: “My son, on Judgment Day, it will be incumbent on me to visit one who visits me during my lifetime or after my passing away, or one who has performed Ziyarah of your father, or your brother, or your Ziyarah; and to save him from the chastisement of his sins.”

Tradition 3: Allah's Messenger (S) said:

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ يَا عَلِيُّ مَنْ زَارَنِي فِي حَيَاتِي أَوْ بَعْدَ مَوْتِي أَوْ زَارَكَ فِي حَيَاتِكَ أَوْ بَعْدَ مَوْتِكَ أَوْ زَارَ ابْنَيْكَ فِي حَيَاتِهِمَا أَوْ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِمَا ضَمِنْتُ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنْ أُخَلِّصَهُ مِنْ أَهْوَالِهَا وَ شَدَائِدِهَا حَتَّى أُصَيِّرَهُ مَعِي فِي دَرَجَتِي.

O Ali! I guarantee to one who performs my Ziyarah during my lifetime or after my passing away, or performs your Ziyarah during your lifetime or after your passing away, or performs the Ziyarah of your two sons during their lives or after their passing away; that I will save him from terrors and difficulties of Judgment Day and take him with me to my level.

Tradition 4: Allah's Messenger (S) said: On Judgment Day, I will visit one who has performed my Ziyarah or the Ziyarah of anyone from my progeny; till I save him from the terrors of that day.
