Tradition 1: Imam Al-Kadhim ('a) said: When you intend to bid farewell to the grave of Amir Al-Mu’minin ('a), recite:

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ أَسْتَوْدِعُكَ اللَّهَ وَ أَسْتَرْعِيكَ وَ أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ- آمَنَّا [إِيمَاناً] بِاللَّهِ وَ بِالرَّسُولِ [بِالرُّسُلِ وَ بِمَا جَاءَتْ بِهِ وَ دَعَتْ إِلَيْهِ وَ دَلَّتْ عَلَيْهِ- فَاكْتُبْنا مَعَ الشّاهِدِينَ اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنْ زِيَارَتِي إِيَّاهُ فَإِنْ تَوَفَّيْتَنِي قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ فَإِنِّي أَشْهَدُ فِي مَمَاتِي عَلَى مَا كُنْتُ [شَهِدْتُ] عَلَيْهِ فِي حَيَاتِي أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكُمُ الْأَئِمَّةُ- وَ تُسَمِّيهِمْ وَاحِداً بَعْدَ وَاحِدٍ وَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مَنْ قَتَلَهُمْ وَ حَارَبَهُمْ مُشْرِكُونَ وَ مَنْ رَدَّ عَلَيْهِمْ وَ رَدَّ عِلْمَهُمْ فِي أَسْفَلِ دَرْكٍ مِنَ الْجَحِيمِ وَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مَنْ حَارَبَهُمْ لَنَا أَعْدَاءٌ وَ نَحْنُ مِنْهُمْ بَرَاءٌ وَ أَنَّهُمْ حِزْبُ الشَّيْطَانِ وَ عَلَى مَنْ قَتَلَهُمْ لَعْنَةُ اللّهِ وَ الْمَلائِكَةِ وَ النّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ وَ مَنْ شَرِكَ فِيهِمْ وَ مَنْ سَرَّهُ قَتْلُهُمْ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ وَ التَّسْلِيمِ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ لَا تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنْ زِيَارَتِهِ فَإِنْ جَعَلْتَهُ فَاحْشُرْنِي مَعَ هَؤُلَاءِ الْمُسَمَّيْنَ الْأَئِمَّةِ اللَّهُمَّ وَ ذَلِّلْ قُلُوبَنَا لَهُمْ بِالطَّاعَةِ- وَ الْمُنَاصَحَةِ وَ الْمَحَبَّةِ وَ حُسْنِ الْمُوَازَرَةِ

Translation: Peace be on you and Allah's mercy and blessings be on you. I entrust you to Allah and I ask Allah to protect you. I extend my salutation on you. We believe in Allah, His messengers, in that which they brought with them, and in that to which they invited and guided the people. So, include us among those who bear witness. O Allah! Do not let this be the last time I come to his Ziyarah. If You take my life before I come to his Ziyarah again, then surely, I will bear witness after my passing away to that which I testified during my life. I bear witness that you are the Imams - and name the Imams one after another. And I bear witness that those who slain them and those who fought them were polytheists and that those who oppose their words and their knowledge are in the lowest levels of Hell. I bear witness that those who fought them are our enemies and we dissociate ourselves from them, and that they are the party of Satan. May Allah's curse, the curse of the angels, and that all of the people be upon those who slain them, those who participated in their slaying, and those who were pleased with it. O Allah! After having prayed and having saluted the Imams, I ask You to bless Muhammad and Aali Muhammad ('a). Do not let this be the last time I come to his Ziyarah, and if it is, then resurrect me with the mentioned Imams. O Allah! Humble our hearts towards them through our obedience and sincerity, our love and support for them.
