I'tikaf

Iʿtikāf (اعتكاف‎, also i'tikaaf or e'tikaaf) is an Islamic practice consisting of a period of staying in a mosque for a certain number of days, devoting oneself to ibadah during these days and staying away from worldly affairs. The literal meaning of the word suggests sticking and adhering to, or being regular in something, this 'something' often including performing nafl prayers, reciting the Qur'an, and reading hadith.

I'tikaf is a highly recommended act in which the Muslim must remain worshiping Allah inside a Masjid for minimum of three days including its nights.

Shia Muslims perform I'tikaf where ever they find a suitable Masjid where they can remain inside it for three days for worshiping Allah.

We have many authentic Hadeeths in Shia books narrated from the Prophet and Ahlul Bayt about I'tikaf. You can see Al-Tahtheeb, V. 4, p. 291 to 293, and al-Istibsaar, v.2, p.128 and 316, and Wasa'il al-Shia , volume 10 where you can see lot of Hadeeths about I'tikaf.

I'tikaf can not be performed but only in the main Masjids or at least a masjid and it can not be done in Islamic center which is not a Masjid or at home etc.

Wassalam.

It is not allowed to buy or sell during E'tikaf. If your online classes are not considered as part of buying or selling, then it is allowed.
