Boasting is generall

Boasting is generally a blameworthy attribute that a God-fearing person should not exhibit in his character or speech.

Imam 'Ali b. Abi Talib (a) has several short sayings addressing this behaviour of pride and boastfulness.

1. What reason has a human being to be proud when his beginning is a drop of semen and his end is a carcass; neither can he sustain himself nor can he repel his [own] death!

Congregational pr

Congregational prayer and prayer at the beginning of its time are both considered highly recommended in Islam. In "Wasa'il al-Shi'a" has been reported from one of the A'imma, peace be upon them, that congregational prayer is not mandatory but rather a sunna, however once it has been established it is not appropriate for the believer to abandon it with no valid justification to the point that Imam said: "Who abandons the congregation of the believers with dislike without any valid reason, in fact has not prayed".

The holy Qur'an s

The holy Qur'an says that believers should act upon knowledge: "And do not pursue that which you have no knowledge" (17:36). The idea of acting according to guesses and conjectures have been clearly rejected: "And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except conjectures, and indeed conjectures avail not against the truth at all" (53:28). Consequently, the one who is not able and is not qualified to deduce religious rulings should follow an expert and a mujtahid to learn the necessary details of Islamic law that are relevant to his life and situation.

"Umm Hani" means "Mo

"Umm Hani" means "Mother of Hani" which is a kunya for a woman whose son has been named "Hani". Etymologically the meaning of "Hani" is related to the concept of "delicacy" and more specifically indicates "joy and happiness".

With prayers for your success.

If Maghrib is at 5:00 PM and doesn't end for another few hours, is it better to pray by yourself at that time or wait for your family and pray together about 10-20 minutes later? Why or why not would either case be better?

Sadl al-yaday

Sadl al-yadayn - leaving the hands open by the side during prayer - is for sure the more authentic practice and was clearly the practice of the Prophet Muhammad (s) and the people of Madina. It was also the practice of Imam ‘Ali (a) and those who followed him, his Shi’a, and also the later Imams such as Ja’far al-Sadiq (a). It was even the practice of the Khawarij who seceded from the side of ‘Ali!

Basically sadl al-yadayn was the only practice for the Islamic prayer until Mu’awiya commanded people to pray with qabd (folding the hands).

If the medicine c

If the medicine contains alcohol that is intoxicant, it will be impermissible to consume it, especially the said amount which is significantly high. Having said that, it is also worth to note in the book "al-Kafi" by Shaykh al-Kulayni the following narration on the authority of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq, peace be upon him: "Every intoxicant is haram. Something that intoxicates only when consumed in large quantities, is also not allowed to be taken even in lesser quantity". You should look at other natural remedies or alternative medicines available on the market insh'Allah.
