the music which is suitable for gatherings and entertainment of corruption is haram regardless its being "motivational" or not. Some scholars have considered impermissible any type of music and musical instruments which is the safest and most cautious approach.

Not all music/songs are haram, and therefore if they do not have the traits of haram music they would be permissible to listen to. Yes, it is good to surround ourselves with spiritually uplifting sounds, and get into the habit of that. So, maybe we can select nasheeds, or duas, etc, instead of other things.
