Dower: The Less The Better
Tradition n. 274
قالَ رَسُولُ الله صلی الله عليه و آله و سلم:
اَعظَمُ النِّكاحِ بَرَكَةً اَيسَرُهُ مَؤُونَةً.
The Holy Prophet (S) said: “The blessing of that marriage is greater that its expenditure is easier.”

قالَ رَسُولُ الله صلی الله عليه و آله و سلم:
اَفضَلُ نِساءِ اُمَّتِي اَصبَحَهُنَّ وَجهًا وَ اَقَلَّهُنَّ مَه رًا.
The Holy Prophet (S) said: “The excellent women of my Ummah are those that the more their faces are beautiful the less are their dowers.”

قالَ رَسُولُ الله صلی الله عليه و آله و سلم:
تَزَوَّج وَلَو بِخاتَمٍ مِن حَدِيدٍ.
The Holy Prophet (S) said: “Marry even with an iron ring (as dower).”

قالَ رَسُولُ الله صلی الله عليه و آله و سلم:
مَن اَعطى فِي صَداقٍ مِل أَ كَفِّهِ سَويقًا اَو تَم رًا فَقَدِ اس تَحَلَّ.
The Holy Prophet (S) said: “He who gives as much as a handful of grains or dates as a dowry (with the acceptance of the partner), surely his marriage is lawful and correct.”

قالَ الإمامُ الصّادِقُ عليه السلام :
زَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (ص) عَلِيًّا فاطِمَةَ (ع) عَلى دِر عِ حَطَمِيَّةٍ تُساوي ثَلاثينَ دِر هَما.
Imam as-Sadiq (‘a) said: “The Holy Prophet (S) gave Fatimah (‘a) in marriage to ‘Ali (‘a) with (the dower of) an armour at the price of thirty Dirhams.”
