As the holy verse in the Quran says God's mercy encompasses all. You can ask the Almighty to show His mercy upon them, and overlook their shortcomings, etc.

Unfortunately some Muslim groups believe it is haram to prayfor a non-Muslim in any way, but reality is such an approach is difficult for one whose family might not have recognised Islam and be good people.

Just requesting Almighty God to show His mercy would hopefully assist them in their next life.

Is it a sign of my insincerity that I am currently feeling my prayers and Duas as a burden?

Prayers and supplications are the best way to talk to Allah (SWT), that is why sincere believers enjoy being in Prayers or reciting supplications.

Feeling Prayers and Du'a as a burden is not a good feeling. It needs to be treated with more Estighfaar and Salawaat and remembering our near future in Hereafter. Visiting the graveyard is good to soften our heart. Serving and looking after orphans also makes out heart more sincere.

If a menstruating woman stayed up all the night in the last ten odd number nights of Ramadan without praying but doing Dhikr and reading the Qur'an, is her Dua likely to get accepted?

Yes of course. Acceptance of every worship depends on the sincerity in the intention.

Menstruating female is allowed to perform all worship e.g. Thikr of Allah, Du'a, reading Quran (except the four verses of obligatory Sojood). She is not allowed to pray any Salah nor perform Tawaf around Ka'ba nor stay in Masjid.

What are the best ways or recitations to help me get my desired outcome?

One of the best ways to get your wishes achieved is to recite Ziyarat Ashura every day and to recite Night Prayer (Namaz e Shab or Salat Al-Layl) every night. It is also very useful to keep on reciting Salawaat and Estighfaar and La Hawla wala Qowwata Illa Billah.

Sadaqa and supplications are also very useful.

Fajr . Qadha . Salah (Prayers) . Du'a (Supplication)

Will my night prayer become invalid if I am mid prayer and it is time for Fajr? Can one make Qadha for the night prayer? And are there any Duas which could help me wake up easily for it?

1.Your Night Prayer (Salat Al-Layl) is valid even if time of Fajr starts while you are still praying Night Prayer.

2.Night Prayer can be performed as Qadha and it is recommended for those who missed it to perform it as Qadha any time during day or night.

3. Last verse of Sura Al-Kahf has been mentioned in our books to be recited to wake up easily قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ فَمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا
الكهف ١٨ | الآية: ١١٠]Sura 18, verse 110.

Parents . Injustice . Du'a (Supplication)

Is it fine for a child to refrain from praying for parents who are Munafiq or Fasiq, or for parents who have been very stressful during their lifetime due to being toxic, troublesome, and unjust?

The right of the parents remains great on their children no matter how their children were treated by them. Children must be nice to their parents even if the children think that their parents were bad parents. Children must always be grateful and good to their parents and pray for them. Allah (SWT) orders us in Quran to nicely treat nin believer parents even if they try to make you a polytheist وإن جاهداك لِتُشرِكَ بي ما ليسَ لكَ بهِ علمٌ فلا تُطِعهُما وصاحِبهُما في الدنيا مَعروفاً (If your parents strive to make you a polytheist without knowledge from you, then don't obey them, but treat them in this life nicely.) Sura 31, Verse 15.

How can we pray for our parents, who are in heavenly abode, for their benefit?

Best things which help your deceased beloved ones is to fulfil their missed worship like Salah, fasting, Khums, Hajj, and other debts. After fulfilling the obligatory debts, giving Sadaqa gives them great benefit as the Hadeeth says: Have mercy on your deceased one by giving Sadaqa (on their behalf). This includes Majlis or Ziyarat or feeding.

Reciting Quran, Du'a, Estighfaar, Salawaat and any Thikr of Allah, on behalf of the deceased helps them.

There are many great Du'a and Quranic verses in this regard e.g.

4. Night Prayer (Namaz e Shab) Salatul Layl.

In Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 20, p. 73, it is somewhat vaguely ascribed to 'Ikrimah that during the Battle of Uhud, the words of Nad-e-Ali were called down to the Prophet (S) from the heavens.

(Specifically, this narration does not include the phrases bi-azamatika ya Allah or bi-nubuwwatika ya Muhammad)

To my knowledge, it does not have a chain of transmission and it is not specified in any of the classical Shi'i hadith books as a du'a.

Since Sufis also recite this du'a frequently, possibly Sufis first used it as a du'a, and then it became more common en masse among Shi'is. It is hard to say.

However, part of the merits of a du'a lie in its effectiveness. Since many people recite this du'a for a specific matter, and find that their prayers are answered quickly, experience shows it is a helpful and effective du'a, regardless of its origins. Seeking intercession from the Prophet (S) and Ahl al-Bayt (A) as a general act is acceptable.

There is also no problem if one does not wish to read it because of theological reasons, absence of strong sourcing, or some other matter.

Personally I read it sometimes.
