Proper Taqleed is following and implementing the verdict of the most knowledgeable Mujtahid. It is not a pick and choose or taking what you like. The verdicts of the most knowledgeable (Al-A'lam) among all the Mujtahids must be followed. If you have real evidence the Marje' A is more knowledgeable in any field of Fiqh than other Mujtahids, then you can follow him in that field only. Having such evidence is not easy at all and it needs witnesses from the high category of Ulama (Ahlul Khibrah).

If the verdicts of different Marja' s are different on certain matter, you must follow the most knowledgeable Marja'.

It is never a matter of personal convenience but the Islamic duty to follow the most learned.

The Taqleed should be to the most learned scholar who is called Marja’ Taqleed. If the Marja’ has no verdict ( Fatwa) in a specific matter, you should refer to the most learned scholar after him.
