According to the Sunni school, the entirety of Bani Hashim and Bani 'Abd al-Muttalib cannot accept sadaqah because they are classed as the family of the Holy Prophet (s). Is this the same in Shi'i Islam?

Yes, all Bani Hashim are not allowed to accept obligatory Zakat from any one who is not from Bani Hashm.
