قالَ الإمامُ الصّادِقُ عليه السلام :
ضَمِن تُ لِمَنِ اق تَصَدَ أَن لا يَف تَقِرَ.
Imam as-Sadiq (‘a) said: “I ensure that he who economizes will never become indigent.”

قالَ الإمامُ اَميرُالمُؤمِنينَ عَلِيٌّ عليه السلام :
رَأ سُ السِّياسَةِ اِس تِع مالُ الرِّف قِ.
Imam Amir al-Mu’minin ‘Ali (‘a) said: “The best policy is the application of benevolence.”

قالَ الإمامُ أَميرُ المُؤمنينَ عَلِيٌّ عليه السلام :
ما فَوقَ الكَفافِ اِسرافٌ.
Imam Amir al-Mu’minin ‘Ali (‘a) said: “(To consume) more than needed is extravagance.”

قالَ الإمامُ الكاظِمُ عليه السلام :
لَو أَنَّ النّاسَ قَصَدُوا فِي المَطعَمِ لَاس تَقامَت أَب دانُهُم .
Imam al-Kadhim (‘a) said: “Had people a moderate habit in eating, their bodies would become strengthened.”

قالَ رَسُولُ الله صلی الله عليه و آله و سلم:
ما مِن اَحَدٍ يَمُرُّ بِمَق بَرَةٍ اِلّا وَ اَه لُ المَق بَرَةِ يُنادُونَ: يا غافِلُ! لَو عَلِم تَ ما عَلِم نا لَذابَ لَح مُكَ عَلى جَسَدِكَ.
The Holy Prophet (S) said: “None passes a graveyard except that the dead call out to him: 'O you neglectful person! Were you aware of what we have been made aware of, it would make your blood run cold'.”
