Is it discouraged by some scholars to critically question and investigate certain religious rulings and quotes based on their content?
There have been times when I doubted a religious ruling or hadith due to it's content, as per critical reasoning but suppressed the thought with self blame and guilt, only to find out later on that the ruling (hadith) was inauthentic exactly as per my logic.
No real scholar has the right to discourage questioning his verdicts or opinions as they admit that they are never infallible. Nevertheless,v the questions should be based on evidence or for seeking evidence for the sake of Allah (SWT) and not for any worldly reason.
