Doors Made Of Silver? - 30 Verses For 30 Days 25/30
Salamun alaykum, dear brothers and sisters and welcome to the 25th clip of this month of Ramadan. In this clip we are going to be discussing another set of verses of the Qur'an. These are going to be from Surat az-Zukhruf, from the 25th to Juz of the Qur'an. Verses 33 through 35 of Surat az-Zukhruf. They actually contain the word "Zukhruf" and this is where Surat az-Zukhruf has taken its name from. Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala is trying to clarify to us and is trying to explain to us how invaluable and how little value the Dunya carries in His eyes. And he says, this Dunya carries so little value in my eyes. The wealth, the Fame, the beauty, everything that comes with the pleasures of this world. Their value is so little in my eyes that I wanted to give more of them to the disobeyers.
Usually we would associate a person who is blessed in his life, as a person that Allah has his back or Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala is watching out for him, so to speak. The Qur'an says, no, it's not like that at all, because this Dunya is something that has so little value for Me. In fact, I would give it to those who I don't care too much about. And then these verses of the Qur'an say not only do We give them to a certain extent from the Dunya, we wanted to give them even more. We wanted to give them more of the Dunya. That is how little value it has in Our eyes. We wanted to give more of it to the disbelievers.
The only problem was if We were to give more of this Dunya to the disbelievers, the believers would start to doubt their own paths. And they would start to sit back and say, wait a second, if Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala has our back and He is watching after us, then why are these disbelievers blessed in this way? Otherwise the Qur'an says We would have been willing to give even more to them. So these are where the verses come into the picture.
"Wa lawla an yakuna an-nasu ummatan wahida, la ja'alna li man yakfuru bi 'r-Rahman, li buyutihim suqufan min fiddatin wa ma'arija 'alayha yadharun" (43:33). If it wasn't for the fact that the believers would turn away from their faith because they would see so many blessings on the other side, We would have given to the disbelievers as ceilings of their houses, "min fiddatin". We would have made them of silver, "wa ma'arija 'alayha yadharun" and we would have given them stairways meaning like fancy houses and palaces and whatnot. And then the verses continue: "Wa li buyutihim abwaban" (43:34), and we would have made their houses, the gates to their houses and the doors of their houses, "wa sururan 'alayha yattaki'un" (43:34), We would have given them chairs to lie back on and incline on. We would have made their houses of silver as well.
We would have done all of this, "Wa zukhrufa" (43:35), this is verse 35, and We would have given their houses and their places of living even more adornments, yes. "Zukhruf" means when you take something and you beautify it, you add something to make it look beautiful. The Qur'an says We would have added even more to them, more than they already have because We don't even care about these things.
And then the Qur'an says: "In kullu dhalika lamma mata'u al-hayati 'd-Dunya" (43:35), but the reality is these are all things that just have to do with this temporary life, where someone comes and benefits from, and after 50 - 60 years he is done with it. "Wa al-akhiratu 'inda Rabbika li 'l-muttaqeen" (43:35). But the Akhira, the Hereafter, that special place that is there, it is in store for the muttaqeen. We are preparing that place for the muttaqeen.
So the verses are highlighting for us how little Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala thinks about the blessings of this world and this is a lesson for us. It helps us in a multitude of ways. If we see someone else as being blessed in a multitude of ways, then we have to understand that this is the Dunya. What matters is whether this person is going to be blessed in the Akhira and more importantly am I going to be blessed by Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala in the Hereafter?
As it relates to the Riddle, for today, it is going to be the 24th Riddle of the month of Ramadan. The question was there are Angels who write down our deeds, they are mentioned as Kiraman Katibin, twice in the Qur'an. Mention the two Surahs they are mentioned by this title or by this name. In the last verse of the second Surah. How does Allah describe Qiyama?
So the answer is the second Surah is going to be Surah Infitar, the first one is Surah Kahf. Second one is Surah Infitar and Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala says: "Kiraman Katibin" (82:11), "Ya'lamuna ma taf'alun" (82:12). They know everything that you do. At the end of Surat ul-Infitar, Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala says, the Day of Judgment is the day "Yawma la tamliku nafsun linafsin shay'a" (82:19). It is the Day where no one can help anybody else on that Day, everyone they have to worry about themselves.
Of course the Shafa'a of the Ahl Al-Bayt is a separate discussion. That is a form of God's Mercy. This is referring to relationship, wealth, I don't know, relatives. These are things that cannot help one on the Day of Judgment. Hopefully everyone got the right answer. Wa as-salamu alaykum, wa Rahmat Ullah.
