Beside your medical hygiene , touching any dry item with your dry hands will not transfer any Nijasah (impurity) to you. If you touch a wet Najis item, or a dry wet item with you wet hands,by our hands will be Najis. If you touch other items with your Najis dry hands, it will not be impure.

Checking the health of the live chickens is permissible and lawful job, but helping or promoting a non Halal business is bad job which should not be done by a Muslim especially if this non Halal food is going to be sold to Muslim consumers.

Touching any Najis item including dogs or its urine etc does need Ghusl at all. You need to wash the part which touched the Najis item with water, then perform Wudhu and pray. It is a sinful act to delay performing the Prayer till it's time goes. Performing the Qadha namaz will not omit the sin of not praying within the time of the prayer.

You must perform your Namaz within its time under any circumstance.

Wassalam.
