Sin . Drawing . Repentance (Tawbah)

Is it sinful to keep old drawings of living beings stored away at home, considering I understand that it is only prohibited to display them? I have repented for creating those drawings, but am I wrong for not discarding them?

You must refer to your Marja' taqleed on whether it is sinful to have and display drawings. Most of our contemporary esteemed jurists do not deem them has prohibited.

It is not permissible to display or show a non Hijabi female for males who are not allowed to look at her. Money earned from sinful act is not allowed.

I recently created a portrait influenced by a Christian artist, who depicted Jesus. My version ended up different, but should I get rid of my drawing and remove the post from social media?

Yes, you should remove it to avoid bee misunderstood by people who might think that you are a Christian or a supporter. The Christian drawings depicting Jesus are not true and should not claim something which is not true.

Is it allowed to depict humans with only the body, head, hair, and clothing, but without including eyes, eyebrows, nose, mouth, lips, and ears? Additionally, is it permissible to create dolls using materials such as clothes or cardboard?

1. Incomplete depiction of humans is allowed.

2. Making dolls for children using clothes or cardboard is permissible.

Yes it is permissible to draw a complete face. This is according to verdicts of most of our leasing scholars.

Shirk . Drawing

What advice to a Sunni can you provide for dealing with the fear of committing Shirk while studying graphic design in school, when it involves drawing and animating living things in their complete form, and switching the subject is not an option?

The Muslims who believes that there is no God, but Allah can never commit Shirk. Manufacturing idols is not permissible, but it can never make the sinners who believes in the Tawheed of Allah can never make him a Mushrik. Graphic design of animation is permissible and it does not resemble idol manufacturing. It is good to note that the Wahabi claims of allegation of Shirk are based on the misunderstanding the narration of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS). They mix between the meanings of the Arabic words, at that time with the different meanings of the same words in today’s time.
