Tradition 1: Imam Ar-Ridha’ ('a) was asked if the Ziyarah of Imam Al-Kadhim ('a) is same as the Ziyarah of Imam Al-Husayn ('a).

Imam ('a) replied, “Yes.”

Tradition 2: Imam Ar-Ridha’ ('a) was asked, “Should I perform the Ziyarah of the grave of Imam Al-Kadhim ('a) in Baghdad?”

Imam ('a) replied, “If you must, then perform the Ziyarah from behind the covers.”

Tradition 3: Same as no. 1.

Tradition 4: Imam Ar-Ridha’ ('a) was asked about the Ziyarah of Imam Al-Kadhim ('a). He ('a) replied, “Pray in the Masjids around the grave.”

Tradition 5: Imam Ar-Ridha’ ('a) was asked, “What are the rewards for the Ziyarah of the grave of your father, Allah's blessings be on him?”

Imam ('a) replied, “Go to his Ziyarah!”

I (the narrator) asked, “What are its merits?''

Imam ('a) replied, “Same as the merits of the Ziyarah of his father (Allah's Messenger).”

I asked, “What should I do if I am in fear and could not enter the shrine?”

Imam ('a) replied, “Salute from behind the walls.”

Tradition 6: Imam Ar-Ridha’ ('a) said: One who performs the Ziyarah of the grave of my father ('a) in Baghdad is like one performed the Ziyarah of Allah's Messenger and that of Amir Al-Mu’minin ('a), except that Allah's Messenger and Amir Al-Mu’minin ('a) have their own specific ranks.

Tradition 7: Imam Jawad ('a) was asked, “What is the reward for the Ziyarah of Allah's Messenger with the sole intention of Ziyarah?”

Imam ('a) replied, “It is Paradise and the reward for the Ziyarah of Imam Al-Kadhim ('a) is also same.”

Tradition 8: Same as no. 1.

Tradition 9: Almost same as no. 6.

Tradition 10: A man joined the gathering of Imam Ali Ar-Ridha ('a) when he was speaking about the excellence of the Ziyarah of Imam Musa Kazim ('a). The newcomer started talking about Baghdad and the inferiority of its people; about the afflictions, collapsing of earth, clamour and the bolts of lightning expected to befall the city.

As I (the narrator) got up to leave, I heard Imam Ar-Ridha’ ('a) say, “As for Imam Al-Kadhim ('a), none will affect him.”

Tradition 11: I wrote to Imam Hadi ('a) inquiring about the Ziyarah of Imam Al-Husayn ('a) and Ziyarah of Imam Al-Kadhim and Imam Jawad ('a).

Imam ('a) replied, “Imam Al-Husayn ('a) is foremost but the Ziyarah of Imam Al-Kadhim and Imam Jawad ('a) is more comprehensive and rewarding.”
