Who Killed Imam Husayn (A)?
As-salamu alaykum, wa Rahmatu Allah. There is a debate as to who was the actual killer of Imam Al-Husayn alayhi as-salam. Indeed, this debate centers around the final moments of the life of Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam; when he many of the soldiers of the army of 'Umar Ibn Sa'ad were surrounding his body.
Some had kicked the chest of Imam Al-Husayn, some had kicked the head of Imam Al-Husayn. Others had shot arrows on the body of Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam. None of us will ever understand the amount of oppression, and the trial, and the tribulation and the slaughtering of Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam.
There are three figures in the army of 'Umar Ibn Sa'ad who are most closely associated with the killing of Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam. One is Sinan Ibn Anas. The other is Khuwalla Ibn Yazid Al-Asbahi. And the third is Shimr Ibn Dhul-Jawshan.
All of them do participate in the killing of Imam Al-Husayn alayhi as-salam, in one way or the other. Sinan Ibn Anas without a doubt, has a spear which he places in the back and in the chest of Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam, shortly before Imam Al-Husayn alayhi as-salam dies. He then expects Khuli or Khuwalla to decapitate the body of Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam. But Khuli seemingly hesitates in those final moments, where he is rebuked by Sinan Ibn Anas.
From there, there is a discussion. Is it Sinan Ibn Anas who comes towards the chest of Imam Al-Husayn to behead him? Or is it Shimr Ibn Dhul-Jawshan? Many occasions we hear that it is Shimr Ibn Dhul-Jawshan who took his dagger out and beheaded the head of the grandson of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his family.
May Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala reward all those lovers of Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam; who every year make a pledge to Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam, that they will never forget the trials that he went through. Wa as-salamu alaykum wa rahmatu Allah.

En effet, ce débat est centré sur les derniers moments de la vie de l'Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam, lorsque de nombreux soldats de l'armée de 'Umar Ibn Sa'ad entouraient son corps.
Certains avaient donné des coups de pied dans la poitrine de l'Imam Al-Husayn, d'autres dans la tête de l'Imam Al-Husayn. Trois personnages de l'armée de 'Umar Ibn Sa'ad sont étroitement associés à l'assassinat de l'imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam. Le premier est Sinan Ibn Anas. L'autre est Khuwalla Ibn Yazid Al-Asbahi. Et le troisième est Shimr Ibn Dhul-Jawshan.
Tous participent au meurtre de l'Imam Al-Husayn alayhi as-salam, d'une manière ou d'une autre. Sinan Ibn Anas possède sans aucun doute une lance qu'il place dans le dos et dans la poitrine de l'imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam, peu avant la mort de ce dernier. Il s'attend ensuite à ce que Khuli ou Khuwalla décapite le corps de l'imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam. Mais Khuli semble hésiter dans ces derniers instants, où il est réprimandé par Sinan Ibn Anas.
À partir de là, une discussion s'engage. Est-ce Sinan Ibn Anas qui s'approche de la poitrine de l'imam Al-Husayn pour le décapiter ? Ou est-ce Shimr Ibn Dhul-Jawshan ? Nous entendons souvent dire que c'est Shimr Ibn Dhul-Jawshan qui a sorti son poignard et décapité le petit-fils du Saint Prophète, que la paix soit sur lui et sur sa famille.
Qu'Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala récompense tous les amoureux de l'Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam, qui chaque année font la promesse à l'Imam Al-Husayn, alayhi as-salam, qu'ils n'oublieront jamais les épreuves qu'il a traversées. Wa as-salamu alaykum wa rahmatu Allah.
