How Many Women Were At Karbala?
Salam 'alaikum wa rahmatu Allah. Fantastic question. For at Karbala, we had heroes, but we also had heroines, ladies, females who would remain role models for us until today. And 20 of them were present at Karbala, if one was to take the source that is Nafas ul-Mahmoom, where it says that 20 women were alongside Imam Al-Husayn 'alayhi as-salam on the plains of Karbala.
Now, many of these survived to tell us about what took place on the plains of Karbala and Kufa and Shaam. Of them, of course, there were those that died. One only remembers the wife of Wahhab, who went towards her husband's body to try and bless him and thank him and be alongside him as he became a martyr alongside Sayyid ush-Shuhadaa' only for Shimr bin Dhil-Jawshan's slave Rustam to come forward and kill her there and then.
But the other ladies, we remember them every year, Sayyida Zainab 'alayha as-salam, being at the helm. But all those ladies, be they young or old, continue to inspire us until today. Wa as-salamu 'alaikum wa rahmatu Allah.

Und 20 von ihnen waren in Karbala anwesend, wenn man die Quelle Nafas ul-Mahmoom nimmt, wo es heißt, dass 20 Frauen an der Seite von Imam Al-Husayn 'alayhi as-salam auf der Ebene von Karbala waren.
Viele von ihnen haben überlebt und erzählen uns, was in den Ebenen von Karbala, Kufa und Shaam geschah. Unter ihnen gab es natürlich auch solche, die starben. Man erinnere sich nur an die Frau von Wahhab, die zum Leichnam ihres Mannes ging, um ihn zu segnen und ihm zu danken und an seiner Seite zu sein, als er an der Seite von Sayyid ush-Shuhadaa' zum Märtyrer wurde, nur damit der Sklave Rustam von Shimr bin Dhil-Jawshan auf sie zukam und sie auf der Stelle tötete.
Aber die anderen Damen, an die wir uns jedes Jahr erinnern, wie Sayyida Zainab 'alayha as-salam, die an der Spitze steht. Aber alle diese Damen, ob jung oder alt, inspirieren uns bis heute. Wa as-salamu 'alaikum wa rahmatu Allah.
